Raven Knob Scout reservation, located outside of Mt. Airy, NC, is a 3,200 acre, full service Boy Scout camp. The camp celebrated its 40th anniversary in 1995. Raven Knob is the local Boy Scout camp serving the Old Hickory Council. The current camp Director is Mr. Keith Bobbitt. This summer's Program Director is former Aquatics Director, Craig Head.

Raven Knob prides itself in offering something for everyone. There is a Raven Scout Program designed for boys just entering scouting that focuses on Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class requirements. Offered are  instruction in handicrafts, shooting sports, aquatics, nature, and scoutcraft merit badges such as Environmental Science, Woodcarving, First Aid, Rifle Shooting, Swimming, Lifesaving, and Camping. There are many more not listed here. For the older scouts the BSA lifeguard program is offered, an intensely difficult program for BSA Lifeguard candidates.

The Outback program functions as a high adventure program for older scouts. The program changes from year to year, but last year's program offered Whitewater Canoeing, Rock Climbing, Wilderness survival, and Mountain Biking. The Outback program is limited to older scouts who are at least First Class.

One of Raven Knob's biggest assets is its staff. Last year's staff included around 85, and a large percentage of those staffers are expected to return. In fact, over half of the Staff has at least one year of prior scout experience.. Some have as many as twelve or twenty! On average, over half of the staff have obtained the Eagle Scout honor. Also offered is a Counselor-Staff Development program for 14-15 year olds. This is a two week program in which the CSD's get to experience working in all the areas of camp, as well as gaining hands on experience for scouting skills instruction. Raven Knob is a huge operation, and it could not exist without all the volunteer work that goes on behind the scenes. These volunteers include OA members, "eager" beavers, and scouters from throughout the Old Hickory Council.
